I offer a wide range of copywriting and editing services, which are priced according to the level of original writing and creative ideas that are required on my part. The hourly fees listed below are approximate for the type of work indicated. Project-based and per-page rates are also available, and I offer reduced rates for larger projects.
Feature writing and PR consulting $50–$60/hour
Includes researching and writing feature articles, ad and brochure concepting and writing, or any other kind of writing where I am generating the ideas and any necessary research for the client. This fee also applies to PR strategizing, pitching, and consulting.
Copywriting $45–$50/hour
Includes writing press materials, Web site content, promotional letters and electronic communications, and other materials where the ideas and the content are for the most part provided by the client. Editing projects that require substantial rewriting also fall into this category.
Editing $40/hour
For light to medium editing of any written materials, including articles, scholarly publications, Web site content, press materials, brochures, newsletters, and technical manuals.
Proofreading $30/hour
Simple proofing for typographical, grammatical, and formatting errors of any written materials.
Though I live in San Diego, I am available to work on writing and editing projects anywhere in Southern California, or at longer distances via correspondence.
